Our history
Chronofresh is a Chronopost subsidiary specializing in the transport of dry, fresh and frozen food products, created in 2015 within the La Poste Group. The birth of the project is the result of three main observations.
Firstly, the reality that there is no food parcel transport service in France. There are only last-mile specialists positioned in small catchment areas, or couriers who only deliver pallets.
Then there's a demand: from some of the Group's customers, who want to be able to deliver food products by express delivery, while respecting the cold chain.
Finally, a trend: the strong emergence of e-commerce, which continues to develop and create new ways of buying and consuming at breakneck speed.
We then looked at what was being done around the world, and turned our attention to Japan, where the food parcel market was already highly developed.
We learned and understood their success factors: the lack of a large-scale distribution network, an aging population requiring temperature-controlled delivery of senior citizens two or three times a week, and the search for quality products through direct sales from producer to consumer.
We then became interested in their method, and it was they who inspired us and taught us how to pool flows.
